BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The City of Cocoa, Florida and the Historic Cocoa Village Association will host the first Sail to the Sun Cruising Seminar at the Cocoa Civic Center on Saturday, December 2.

The Sail to the Sun Cruising Seminar is the brainchild of noted cruising columnist Wally Moran and the Historic Cocoa Village Association, a merchant’s group in Historic Cocoa Village, and is supported by media sponsor, Cruising World Magazine.

The day-long seminar will help highlight Cocoa as a worthwhile rest and refresh stop to the many thousands of cruisers who pass by Historic Cocoa Village on the Intracoastal Waterway every year.

The seminar will feature cruising writer and personality Captain Fatty Goodlander. Additional speakers include Pam Wall on Crossing the Gulf Stream and Cruising the Bahamas, Wally Moran on Changes in Cruising Cuba, Mike Gianotti will offer his valuable insights on marine electrical systems and plans also call for a presentation by a weather expert.

The day’s schedule will include an hour long Question-and-Answer Roundtable, lunch and dinner, plus happy hour and entertainment.

Funds raised by the organization support various promotions, general advertising and tourism development for the community. A portion of the proceeds from the Sail to the Sun Cruising Seminar will be devoted to the ongoing development and improvement of Cocoa’s boating and cruising facilities along the Indian River.
