BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – While patrolling the Buck Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA), Officer Marroquin observed multiple individuals carrying large bags and other equipment commonly used to harvest saw palmetto berries.

Four citations were issued for removing saw palmetto berries from a WMA.

While conducting water patrol on the barge canal in the Merritt Island area, Officer Eller observed a large vessel operating in an erratic manner as the vessel almost struck the shoreline.

During the subsequent vessel stop, the operator ignored many of the officer’s requests and appeared intoxicated.

Seated field sobriety exercises were administered and the operator performed poorly on all the tasks. The operator was arrested for BUI and transported to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
