Florida Tech Cancels Classes and Suspends Normal Operations Sept. 8-11 Due To Hurricane Irma

Beginning Friday, Sept. 8 through the end of day Monday, Sept. 11, all Florida Institute of Technology classes are canceled and normal operations suspended due to the approach of Hurricane Irma.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Beginning Friday, Sept. 8 through the end of day Monday, Sept. 11, all Florida Institute of Technology classes are canceled and normal operations suspended due to the approach of Hurricane Irma.

Normal operations are planned Thursday, Sept. 7, however, faculty members are asked to exercise leniency regarding any hurricane-related absences that day. Students are encouraged to keep in close contact with their parents regarding their plans.

Students living off-campus should pay close attention to evacuation orders or other direction from local authorities, if issued. Those living on campus should follow the directions of Student Affairs, Residence Life, and Campus Security personnel.

Everyone should be thinking about their personal emergency plans and preparing for the potential hurricane impact.
