BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – While the biggest part of the storm has passed through Brevard County we are still getting substantial winds and rain.

I know everyone is anxious to assess any potential damages that may have occurred as the result of the storm but please stay inside and off the roadways as our team and our Public Safety partners are currently covering the entire county to make sure it’s safe before we give the all clear.

We already know that throughout the county we have significant power outages and down power lines as well as flooding. Please continue to do as we have asked and stay inside until we give the all clear.

Currently, all causeways to the beaches and barrier island are closed so please do not expect to be able to access the barrier island and coastal cities until such time as we have announced that they have all been opened. Again please stay where you are just a little longer and give us a chance to survey damages and potential hazards.

Again, thank you for working with us and for doing everything we can as a community to limit the impact of this storm and to help keep everyone safe!
