The State of Florida announced Thursday that the Department of Financial Services has launched a Hurricane Irma insurance information website to provide comprehensive insurance information for Floridians ahead of the landfall of Hurricane Irma.

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – As Hurricane Irma moves closer to Florida’s shores, state officials are reminding Floridians that personal safety comes ahead of physical possessions.

Officials strongly encouraging Floridians to seek safer ground away from the path of Hurricane Irma.

“Floridians have worked hard for their homes, and I know that it’s tough and terrifying to consider leaving, but Hurricane Irma is a powerful and dangerous storm and evacuating can save your life,” said Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis.

“Any Floridians staying in their homes despite evacuation orders should evacuate and do so immediately. We will help consumers navigate through their insurance claims issues after the storm.”
