BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA (WFTV) – The Sykes Creek Bridge on Sea Ray Drive in Cocoa remains shut down to traffic due to damage caused by Hurricane Irma.

Vehicles unable to traverse the waterway could be one of several problems damage to the bridge could end up causing, as it also carries a water main that services thousands of Cocoa water customers.

The Cocoa Utilities Department was at the bridge Monday to take a closer look at the scouring and erosion created by rough surf during Irma.
