Three Juveniles, One Adult Arrested After Burglarizing House During Hurricane Irma Evacuation

Palm Bay Special Operations Detectives and Youth Service Officers have arrested three juveniles and one adult for a residential burglary.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA –Palm Bay Special Operations Detectives and Youth Service Officers have arrested three juveniles and one adult for a residential burglary.

According to Lt. Mike Bandish of the Palm Bay Police Department, the burglary took place during the declared state of emergency on September 10 when the home owner (victim) evacuated from Florida due to Hurricane Irma.

Palm Bay Police responded to the 1300 block of Mohegan Terrance, after being alerted by a neighbor about the burglary.

The three juveniles were taken into custody and 19-year-old Junior Selmont was arrested at a later time.

Suspects Arrested:
• 16-year-old juvenile was charged with residential burglary, grand theft, possession of over 20 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct /breach of the peace.

• 15-year-old juvenile was charged with residential burglary, grand theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct /breach of the peace and violation of home detention.

• 17-year-old juvenile was charged with residential burglary, and grand theft.

• 19-year-old Junior Selmont was charged with residential burglary, and grand theft. He was also charged with violation of probation.
