The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Corporate Citizenship Center is managing the National Disaster Help Desk.

We’re preparing for Hurricane Irma and how we can support you and your recovery effort. We will activate to support (not supplant) existing systems and communications between chambers, businesses, non-profits, local/state/federal governments and fill gaps when needed.

When we activate the Disaster Help Desk (888-MY-BIZ-HELP) in a disaster area, it also helps to coordinate any of our national corporate donors into the area.

Here are new recovery Quick Guides to help Chambers and Small Businesses hit by a disaster. You can use the printed version or the expanded online version for both.

In your communications with your membership, you may also direct them here for the most pertinent information they need to know as a business before the storm strikes.

We respectfully request (as possible) that as your recovery unfolds – please keep us in the loop as to the number of businesses impacted and any needs so we can act quickly in determining how to support your efforts, and to assist you with economic recovery, if needed. Any additional information is much appreciated.

If you have any details you would like to share with us as to your experiences, current needs, etc., please let me know. If you are experiencing serious difficulties in your area, I have Chamber Presidents who have experienced recent disasters that can be valuable resources for you, and we can provide put them in contact with you (ie. Joplin, Missouri; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Galveston, Texas; San Diego, CA: etc.)

Even if the disaster is not the same, the issues and solutions follow the same path.

Please feel free to share our Disaster Help Desk line at 1-888-MY-BIZ-HELP (888-692-4943) on your communications or website with area businesses should they need any help or have questions.
