Port Canaveral officials have reported that the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Canaveral Fire Rescue has been on scene at the Port making preliminary damage assessments, and no major damage was noted at this point.

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Port Canaveral officials have reported that the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Canaveral Fire Rescue has been on scene at the Port making preliminary damage assessments, and no major damage was noted at this point.

“We will begin assessing general harbor conditions soon to facilitate return to normal operations as soon as possible,” said Port Canaveral officials in a statement.

On September 9, the US Coast Guard Captain of the Port set Hurricane Condition “Zulu” for Port Canaveral.

During this port condition the port remains closed to all incoming and outgoing vessel traffic until directed by the captain of the port.

All vessels that remained in port are secure and the Port remains closed until further notice.
