Wastewater Pours Into Canal Near S. Patrick Dr. and Anchor Dr., Nearby Residents Told To Avoid the Water

Due to heavy flow in the sewer system caused by Hurricane Irma, wastewater was discharged to a canal along S. Patrick Drive and Anchor Drive to prevent backup into residential properties.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Due to heavy flow in the sewer system caused by Hurricane Irma, wastewater was discharged to a canal along S. Patrick Drive and Anchor Drive to prevent backup into residential properties.

While the sewer system has returned to normal operations, residents in the following locations — Anchor Drive, Windward Way, Inwood Way, Spinnaker Point, Venetian Way and Lansing Island Drive — are being advised not to use the canal behind their homes for swimming, fishing or wading until further notice.

Officials advise to please keep your pets away, as well.
