BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Agents from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office East Precinct General Crimes Unit have arrested Arthur Roy Bell III for committing an armed robbery early Friday morning at the Cumberland Farms, located at 1385 North Courtenay Parkway on Merritt Island.

Bell was arrested after he was located in the area of 1165 Jordan Road on Merritt Island, at which time he was charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Petit Theft, and Trespassing.

The investigation was initiated after Bell walked into the Cumberland Farms at approximately 2:30 a.m. Friday morning and demanded money from the clerk. Bell was armed with a firearm and razor blade at the time of the robbery.

Bell stole an undisclosed amount of money from the registers, after which he fled from the store. Upon the arrival of Deputies, the clerk was able to provide a picture of the suspect from a social media site as she recognized the male from being a regular customer at the store.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., BCSO Agents received information that Bell was in the area of 1165 Jordan Road on Merritt Island. Bell was later seen walking down the roadway wearing clothing that matched the description from the robbery.

Bell was taken into custody without incident and was treated for injuries sustained from an altercation that had occurred after to the robbery, but prior to Law Enforcement’s arrival.

Bell was additionally identified by the clerk as the person who committed the robbery.
