Cocoa Police Officer Josh Roane isn’t such a “rookie” anymore, as he’s now been with CPD for a year and a half. “You could say it was meant to be,” Cocoa police said on its Facebook page. (CPD image)

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Officer Josh Roane isn’t such a “rookie” anymore, as he’s now been with CPD for a year and a half.

“You could say it was meant to be,” Cocoa police said on its Facebook page.

Officer Roane comes from a law enforcement family.

His mom is retired Florida Department of Law Enforcement and his stepfather works with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Before coming to CPD, Roane was an officer with the Fort Pierce Police Department for three years.

At 27 years old, he’s a SWAT officer and a member of the CPD Honor Guard.

Office Roane is currently assigned to CPD’s Echo Squad.
