Melbourne Man Killed In Deadly Crash Along State Road 524, Orange City Man In Serious Condition

State Troopers responded to a deadly two-vehicle crash on Wednesday along State Road 524 that took the life of a Melbourne man.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – State Troopers responded to a deadly two-vehicle crash on Wednesday along State Road 524 near Precious Blvd. that took the life of a Melbourne man.

Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man killed as 43-year-old Christopher Agard from Melbourne.

The man in the other vehicle was also seriously injured and identified as 32-year-old Aston Johnson from Orange City

According to authorities, the investigation has revealed that Johnson was traveling in a RAM Pickup truck heading eastbound State Road 524 around 1:15 p.m. when his car hydroplaned and traveled into the on-coming lanes on SR 524.

After traveling into the on-coming lanes, the pickup truck collided into the front-left corner of the Explorer and knocked Agard’s vehicle in a water filled ditch, troopers say.

Both men were rushed to Holmes Regional Medical Center where Agard was later pronounced dead.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating this incident.
