Enhancements begin on October 28, 2017

The Florida Lottery’s MEGA MILLIONS Draw game is undergoing a redesign that will bring more value to its players with larger starting jackpots and more $1 million winners.

The new enhancements include a starting jackpot that will increase from $15 million to $40 million, and will grow fasteroverall; better odds to win the second-tier prize of $1 million; and larger lower-tier prizes.

The ticket price will also change, increasing from $1 to $2 per play; Megaplier will remain at $1 more per play.

The MEGA MILLIONS number matrix will also change; players will now select five numbers from 1 to 70, and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Overall odds of winning a prize will be one-in-24.

The new MEGA MILLIONS enhancements will go into effect on Saturday, October 28, 2017; the first drawing to include the enhancements will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

“Since joining MEGA MILLIONS four years ago, this multi-state game has become a player favorite; generating millions in contributions to education,” said Lottery Secretary Jim Poppell.

“We look forward to these new enhancements creating even more enthusiasm among our players and retailers, with an additional $9 million in education contributions expected during the first year.”
