One of Largest Women’s Surf Events In U.S. Returns To Cocoa Beach Pier This Weekend

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA — One of the largest women’s surf events in the United States returns for its fourth year this weekend at the Cocoa Beach Pier.

The 4th Annual Salty Sweet Pro/Am Hosted by The Cocoa Beach Pier begins on Oct. 14 as professional surfers kick off the weekend on Saturday at 9 a.m.

On Sunday, Oct. 15 starting at 9 a.m., the amateurs will have 13 divisiions competing in both longboarders and shortboarders.

The finals for all divisions, including professional, will be held after the amateur surf category on Sunday.

There will be an awards ceremony held at 6 p.m. Sunday evening, at Keith’s Oyster Bar, located at the base of the pier.

The event earned Eastern Surf Magazine’s “Best New Contest” award in 2014 and has shown consistent growth since then.

This year, is sure to be even larger as the event is supported by Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism through it’s Sports Marketing Program for the first time.

A cash prize of $5,000 will be awarded to the winner of the professional division.
