ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights) – Another resounding victory. Another climb in the national rankings. The UCF football team moved up to No. 20 in both the Coaches and Associated Press polls Sunday.

It’s the third straight week for the Knights in the Top 25. This year’s appearances in the Top 25 polls are the first since the final rankings of 2013. That season ended with a Fiesta Bowl victory and a final ranking of 10th in the nation.

This season, the Knights have started 5-0 with wins over FIU, Maryland, Memphis, Cincinnati and ECU. UCF leads the nation in scoring offense, averaging 50.5 points per game and is one of just four teams in all of FBS to rank in the Top 15 in both scoring offense and scoring defense (Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame are the other three).

A pair of American Athletic Conference opponents are also ranked this week. USF is ranked No. 13 by the coaches and No. 16 by the AP. Memphis is No. 25 in the Associated Press ranking. The Knights defeated Memphis 40-13 on Sept. 30 and host USF on Nov. 24.

UCF will now turn its attention to a road game at Navy Saturday in Annapolis, Md. The Knights and the Midhsipmen are scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS Sports Network.
