Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County’s next Women Build is set to begin Saturday, October 28 at 9 a.m. at 2137 Cedarwood Drive in Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County’s next Women Build is set to begin Saturday, October 28  at 2137 Cedarwood Drive in Melbourne.

“Though our neighborhoods are comprised largely of women and children, they are also the population’s most likely to be affected by poor living conditions,” said Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County officials.

“Our Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities. Join us October 28th as we start a new home for the Hornsby family. You can meet the Hornsby Family and join us for the celebration and blessing of the start of their new home!”

The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. with the introduction of the family, wall raising and blessing. Construction volunteers are invited to arrive at 8 a.m. for ceremony prep.

VOLUNTEER WITH WOMEN BUILD

Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County Women Build program provides the opportunity for hundreds of area women to address the growing housing crisis by coming together as volunteers and donors to build simple, decent homes with a low-income partner family.

Women Build offers a unique approach toward achieving Habitat’s mission of eliminating poverty housing in Brevard County.

At a Women Build construction site, not only do women provide the volunteer labor from framing to landscaping, but each project is managed start to finish by experienced women Task Leaders who have been a part of Women Build for years.
