Due to advances in technology and a general understanding of how our bodies work, cosmetic surgery procedures are rapidly evolving and for the most part, these surgeries seem to be very popular and can help people with some serious health issues.

However, while we have common procedures such as breast enlargements and drip and chill treatments, there are some truly bizarre procedures out there that you’ve probably never heard of! Interested? You should be, as we embark on a very strange journey about crazy cosmetic surgery practices.

Point ‘Spock Ear’ Cropping

This one is also known as ‘elfing’ which, as you might be able to gather from the name, involves making the tip of your ears pointier. Sure, there are some legendary elf characters in our favorite films, like Tauriel from The Hobbit or our favorite elf Buddy, but maybe this is a little extreme?

Essentially, a small wedge of tissue is removed from the tip of the ear which is then followed by the two remaining edges being sutured together. As long as the healing process is successful, the end result should be a pointier ear. I think I’ll just stick to prosthetic Hallowe’en elf ears, thanks…

Fake Dimples

Only certain lucky people can be born with dimples, and for those born without them, jealousy often arises. When it comes to physical attraction, many people feel smitten by dimples, and will immediately regard them as a positive aspect of someone’s appearance.

Well, now you can actually create dimples via cosmetic surgery, with a minuscule incision being made on the inside of the mouth. Then, a small suture is placed between the buccinators muscle and the skin of the cheek. Sounds technical, but the bottom line? Cute dimples!

Six-Pack Creation

Going to the gym is a real effort, am I right? Not to worry, as you can now get a six pack just by laying down – well not entirely, but you know what I mean. Previously liposuction was used to flatten areas that were protruding, but now, many plastic surgeons are able to create the six packs that so many men lust over.

With liposuction and shrinking of the skin combined, this effect can be created. What could be better than playing PlayStation all night and ordering pizza every day knowing that you don’t have to worry about hitting the gym? I’ll wait…

Turning An Outie into an Innie

Did you ever find yourself comparing bellybuttons to peers in your class at primary school, discovering who had an innie and who had an outie? Maybe it is just me, but regardless, you can now turn your outie into an innie with the help of cosmetic surgery.

Technically, an outie bellybutton is actually a small umbilical hernia, so surgeons can repair this by making a tiny incision on the upper surface of the bellybutton. Many people have actually reaped the benefits of this peculiar cosmetic surgery, but always remember to be proud of your outie, kids!

Voice Lifts

Ever get bored of your job and think “whatever, I’ll just quit, go on X-Factor, win, and be a millionaire”? Possibly just me again, but it seems tempting, doesn’t it? The only tiny little detail though – you need to be able to actually sing. Well, you’ve guessed it – plastic surgery can now provide you with a decent singing voice! In this procedure, the neck is sliced open and the vocal cords are adjusted via implants and injections. After all of that, maybe I’ll just stick to my day job… ouch!
