Four NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Teams To Play At Titan Field House In Melbourne

Eastern Florida State College will host the 2017 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam NCAA Division I women’s basketball tournament beginning Thursday.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College will host the 2017 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam NCAA Division I women’s basketball tournament beginning Thursday.

The women’s basketball tournament was forced to relocate from the U.S. Virgin Islands due to damage from Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria and half of the women’s tournament will be at Titan Field House with Butler, Drexel, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia coming to the Melbourne campus.

West Virginia is No. 12 in the Associated Press Division I Women’s Basketball poll and is 3-0 this season led by Teana Muldrow who is averaging 28.5 points per game.

The Mountaineers finished last season No. 22 in the poll and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Virginia Tech is off to a 3-0 start this season and is coming off a 20-win season and trip to the quarterfinals of the WNIT Tournament.

Butler is also unbeaten at 3-0 this season heading into Monday night’s game at South Florida.

Drexel is coming in 2-1 and on a two-game win streak and is coming off a 22-win season in which the Dragons made it to the second round of the Women’s NIT Tournament.

The tournament begins Thursday with Butler playing West Virginia at noon and then Drexel is playing Virginia Tech at 2:30 p.m.

On Friday West Virginia will play Drexel at 3:30 p.m. and Virginia Tech faces Butler at 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, Butler plays Drexel at 3:30 p.m. and West Virginia faces Virginia Tech at 6 p.m.

Tickets will be available at the door for $40 for an all-tournament pass or $15 per day and is good for both games that day.
