‘Hometown Heroes’ Event To Benefit Veterans Memorial Center Set Nov. 11 at Kiwanis Island

Hometown Heroes, a charity event for the Veterans Memorial Center, will be held November 11 from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kiwanis Island Park, located at 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road on Merritt Island.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Hometown Heroes, a charity event for the Veterans Memorial Center, will be held November 11 from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kiwanis Island Park, located at 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road on Merritt Island.

Featured guest speakers will include Col. Danny McKnight from Black Hawk Down and Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey.

The event is being presented by Kaleb Rennemann and Sarah Raver of Blue Marlin Real Estate.

“This event is to benefit the Veterans Memorial Center in Merritt Island, which is a local non-profit that helps all veterans in Brevard, and we are celebrating that and all local heroes on Veterans Day,” said Rennemann.

The event will feature live music from the band Even Odds, beer from Florida Beer Company and many great vendors with boats, cars and trucks on display.

“We will have a huge raffle at the event, and 100 percent of raffle sales and all other money raised at the event will go to theVeterans Memorial Center,” said Rennemann.

The Brevard Veterans Memorial Center is a non-profit organization with one goal in mind…to serve our veterans. With an amazing array of military artifacts ranging from the Revolutionary War to our current conflicts in the Middle East, VMC strives to educate the public on our military’s efforts both past and present in our free museum, library and plaza.
