Melbourne Police are currently conducting a homicide investigation after a man was reported shot in the neck by witnesses in the parking lot of the Park at Via Terrossa apartment complex Thursday morning.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are currently conducting a homicide investigation after a man was reported shot in the neck by witnesses in the parking lot of the Park at Via Terrossa apartment complex Thursday morning.

Police say the shooting victim is described as a white male, where he later died from his injuries after arriving at the hospital.

Authorities are searching for the suspect who is identified as a black male who drove away from the scene in a gold SUV, according to Melbourne Police.

Lt. Cheryl Trainer of the Melbourne Police Department says the connection between the suspect and victim is not yet known.

The Melbourne Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
