BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested a wanted felon identified as 25-year-old Michael Dudley-Palmer during a city-wide traffic safety initiative.

Dudley-Palmer was a wanted felon who had charges that included: aggravated assault with deadly weapon/false imprisonment, Felony Battery, violation of probation-reference to felony battery, robbery, providing false information and resisting arrest without violence.

Police say on Friday (Nov. 18), at around 2:40 a.m., officers were enforcing “Operation Street Smart,” a city-wide traffic safety initiative in the south DDACTS area at New Haven/US-1 when they stopped a man on a bicycle for a traffic violation for no white/red light on his bicycle.

After stopping the suspect, Dudley-Palmer initially gave a false name of James Gerard.

Thanks to a live-scan by police, the suspect was positively identified as Michael Dudley-Palmer who was wanted by the Melbourne Police Department in reference to a SWAT call-out/barricaded suspect last week (Nov. 13) on Pineapple Ave.
