ORLANDO, FLORIDA — Overton’s, America’s Marine and Watersports Superstore, has reached an agreement with ESPN and Florida Citrus Sports to present the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

The game, which kicks off at 1 p.m. on New Year’s Day on ABC, will host top teams from the Southeastern and Big Ten or Atlantic Coast conferences.

“We’re excited to extend our partnership with ESPN and Florida Citrus Sports to showcase our Overton’s brand,” said Marcus Lemonis, Chairman of Camping World Holdings, Inc., parent company of Overton’s.

“The nationwide exposure originating from a region that enjoys both a climate and geography for year-round water sports make this a perfect fit. We look forward to hosting two great collegiate teams and celebrating their terrific seasons.”

Overton’s will receive national exposure through television, radio and online media and will be recognized in all game promotion. Overton’s will also be featured on signage and event collateral throughout bowl week and in the stadium on game day.

“We couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to partner with Overton’s,” said Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports.

“Our stadium and our organization have thrived since joining forces with Camping World in April 2016, and in Overton’s we’ve found a teammate that’s a perfect fit and one that is sure to make a splash in a community with a history so deeply rooted in the water.”

This year’s Citrus Bowl will be the 72nd edition of Orlando’s New Year’s Day classic, the seventh-oldest bowl game in the country.

The game has traditionally featured top teams from the Big Ten and SEC. In the College Football Playoff era, new partnerships with the Big Ten and ACC created opportunities for the latter to participate in the game.

Last year’s matchup featured the LSU Tigers, who defeated Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson and the Louisville Cardinals 29-9.
