SPACE COAST DAILY: The Viera Hawks, district champs, have their answer as to who visits Hawks Stadium Friday. Viera returns to the playoffs as a No. 2 seed in Class 7A Region 2 and will host Gaither in Round 1.

SPACE COAST DAILY FLASH REPORT: The Class 4A defending state champion Cocoa Tigers are the No. 1 seed in Class 4, Region 3 and will host Lake Placid in Round 1 of Florida High School Athletic Association playoffs.

SPACE COAST DAILY FLASH REPORT: Three Brevard County teams make the playoffs from Class 5A. Led by District Champ, the Rockledge Raiders. The Raiders are a No. 2 seed in Region 4 and will host a familiar foe in another Brevard County team – the Palm Bay Pirates. This is a rematch of a game Rockledge won 42-6 earlier this year. The Merritt Island Mustangs continue their playoff streak as the No. 8 seed and will face one of the top seeds in No. 1 American Heritage Plantation.

SPACE COAST DAILY FLASH REPORT: District Champ, the Heritage Panthers, are back in the playoffs and will host Miami Central in Round 1. These two teams met several years back with Heritage nearly pulling the upset.

SPACE COAST DAILY FLASH REPORT: Melbourne Central Catholic can breathe a little easier as the Hustlers make the 2017 Florida High School Athletic Association state football playoffs, and will travel to play the First Academy Eagles in Round 1.
