Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization to Hold Aurora Corridor Study Public Meeting Today

The public is invited to attend a charrette for a study being conducted on Aurora Road by the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization, in coordination with Brevard County and the City of Melbourne.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The public is invited to attend a charrette for a study being conducted on Aurora Road by the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization, in coordination with Brevard County and the City of Melbourne.

The meeting is set for  5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wickham Park Community Center, located at 2815 Leisure Way in Melbourne.

A charrette is a hands-on public workshop in which community members, stakeholders, elected officials, decision makers and professionals work together in a collaborate way to brainstorm and develop potential corridor alternatives.

Study Limits: Aurora Road from Wickham Road to Stewart Avenue.

Study Purpose: To explore alternatives that improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities as well as address safety issues, traffic operations, and transit needs.

Meeting Purpose: To engage the public in a collaborative, hands-on workshop to develop new ideas that shape the future of the Aurora Road corridor, making it safe and comfortable for all road users.
