STYLING THE SPACE COAST WITH GINA LIBERTO
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Autumn brings new fashion trends along with the stress of a busy season. You may feel like a frazzled ball of nerves and wish your pajamas wouldn’t be a misunderstood fashion statement but have no fear.
Gina Liberto, personal stylist and Fashion Editor for Space Coast Daily, has some simple tips to help you simplify your life and elevate your style.
The goal is to save time and eliminate aggravation. This can be accomplished in even the most chaotic lifestyle. Everyday fashion can be as simple as 1-2-3.
Start with a foundation of basic pieces. Casual looks can be just as fashionable if coordinated properly. Utilize solids and neutrals to start. Whether it’s jeans, skirts or leggings, your go to basics should coordinate with some simple tops or on trend pieces in your closet.
Solid color t-shirts are a staple item in any wardrobe. Fun seasonal trends like graphic tees, the cold shoulder or flare sleeves are easily incorporated into an everyday look.
Make sure to wear colors that compliment your tones. Take into consideration the colors of the season as well. Even inexpensive pieces can look fashionable when worn properly.
After you create a simple palette, you want to add some texture and contrast. Do this by adding an accent piece. It can be a fun kimono, a vest, denim jacket or a simple infinity scarf. This is where color and pattern can make a statement.
You can also camouflage those areas where you lack confidence. Use these pieces to cover or distract from these perceived body flaws.
Like a cupcake without the icing is just a muffin, an outfit without accessories is just not complete. Accessories add the final touches while showcasing your personality and flare.
Jewelry is the last thing you put on and the first thing people see. You can guide the focus of attention from unwanted areas to our favorite features.
Adding earrings frames your face, the center of communication. Increasing the size of the accessories you wear can give the appearance of being taller and thinner. Adding a few bracelets with a quarter length sleeve provides a slimming effect by enhancing the waistline and decorating the thinnest part of the arm.
When shopping for accessories, remember the clothes you wear most and what your comfortable wearing. For example, if short heavy necklaces bother you, look for something long and simple. It will look good and your confidence will show.
If getting ready in the morning is a stressful challenge, try these time saving tips. Evaluate what you have and access what you need to fill in the gaps. This will save you not only time, but money.
Go shopping for the pieces that will pair with most everything in your closet and the fun pieces to be your statement favorites. When most of your pieces coordinate, work with your lifestyle and are worn comfortably, you can hit the snooze button one more time.
