Veteran’s Day Celebration At Solaris Senior Living On Merritt Island Features Cold War Veteran

Solaris Veteran’s Day celebration set Friday, Nov. 10

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Retired U.S. Navy Lt. Malcolm Baird will deliver the keynote address during the Solaris Senior Living Veteran’s Day celebration, set for Friday, Nov. 10.

The event, which is open to the public, will begin at 2 p.m. in Solaris Senior Living’s parlor.

Solaris Senior Living, a leading assisted living community in Brevard County, is located at 535 Crockett Boulevard on Merritt Island.

During Lt. Baird’s distinguished 20-year career with the U.S. Navy, he served on five submarines during the Cold War.

The annual Veteran’s Day event honors Americans that served in the line of duty and is open to all Solaris residents, their families and the community.

“We’re very pleased to have Lt. Baird speak about his extensive military service and the importance of Veteran’s Day,” said Shawn Corley, Administrator of Solaris Senior Living.

“Our team looks forward to recognizing the many Solaris residents who bravely served their country.”

VITAS will serve as an event sponsor and will present Solaris veterans and their spouses with flag pins and certificates of appreciation.
