Brevard County Board of Commissioners Seek Applicants for Children’s Services Council

The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is soliciting applications for council member appointments to the Children’s Services Council of Brevard County (CSCBC).

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is soliciting applications for council member appointments to the Children’s Services Council of Brevard County (CSCBC).

The Florida Gubernatorial Appointments Office must confirm the appointments. Children Services Council members must have resided within the boundaries of Brevard County for at least 24 months prior to applying and are appointed for four-year terms.

Some of the major duties and responsibilities of the CSCBC are to 1) Determine the roles, mission, and major objectives of the Children’s Services Council and 2) Research and collect local data to determine the needs of children in Brevard County. Currently, CSCBC is unfunded. Should the council become funded, additional fiduciary responsibilities would be added.

Applications should be submitted online to the Florida Gubernatorial Appointments Office no later than noon, Dec. 15, 2017.

Applicants should indicate they are applying for the Children’s Services Council of Brevard County appointment.

The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners will review all local applicants that have successfully applied to the Florida Gubernatorial Appointments Office.

The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners will submit a list of reviewed names deemed qualified to the Gubernatorial Appointments Office and potential appointment to the CSCBC.

  • Step 1: CLICK HERE to go online
  • Step 2: Download the .pdf Appointments Questionnaire
  • Step 3: After you have completed and saved the Appointments Questionnaire, click Board Seat Application to complete your demographic and personal information and finalize your application
  • Step 4: Select the board seats you wish to apply for (Brevard County)
  • Step 5: Attach any additional documents (optional)
  • Step 6: Submit the completed application packet

Please be advised certain boards or commissions may require the appointee to fill out a financial disclosure form.
