13TH STRAIGHT WIN SETS UP SATURDAY SHOWDOWN WITH 14-0 Shelton State

The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team used a 7-0 run in the first half to win its 13th straight game, defeating Baltimore City Community College in the Josh Artis Classic at Titan Field House.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team used a 7-0 run in the first half to win its 13th straight game, defeating Baltimore City Community College, 96-81 in the Josh Artis Classic at Titan Field House.

The Titans came out slow against Baltimore City Community College, but the bench provided a spark behind sophomore Silas Adheke who scored five of his 14 points in the 7-0 run that turned a one-point lead into eight and the Titans never looked back, posting the 96-81 victory.

Ahmed Ali continued his strong play, scoring 18 of his team-high 21 points in the first half. The sophomore from Toronto, Canada has scored at least 11 points in every game this season.

Nathanael Jack scored 14 points and has now scored at least 11 points in the past five games, getting the start in the past four.

Eli Abaev and Logan Folsom each had 13 points in the win as the Titans improved to 14-1 on the season.

The fifth-ranked Titans will face No. 11 Shelton State in the final game of the Josh Artis Classic at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Shelton State won a wild game against Ancilla College 105-103 in overtime on Friday night and head into the matchup with the Titans 14-0 on the season.

Against Ancilla, Charles Norman scored 31 points including 8-of-10 free throws while Tre Todd had 19, making 13-of-15 free throws. Shelton State had 50 free throw attempts in the contest.

Ancilla will face Baltimore City Community College at noon on Saturday. Ancilla is now 9-1 on the season and was led by guard Jair Rodgers who scored 27 against Shelton State.

Admission is free to games at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus of Eastern Florida State College.
