Florida Tech Men’s Basketball Host Annual Winter Classic Tournament Dec. 18-19

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Florida Tech men’s basketball team will host its annual Winter Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 18-19 at the Clemente Center.

The Panthers (4-6) welcome Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn (3-5), Miles College (0-7) and Shawnee State (6-3) for this year’s classic.

The opening game of the Winter Classic is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Monday and features the matchup between Lynn and SSU. Florida Tech and Miles will face off in the second game at 6 p.m.

The teams return to the Clemente Center on Tuesday with Lynn and Miles opening up the action at 3:30 p.m. FIT will conclude the Winter Classic against Shawnee State with the tipoff occurring at 6 p.m.

Florida Tech’s contest with Miles on Monday is the Panthers’ “Be A Buddy” Night as the team honors the amazing children, families and staff of The Parker Foundation For Autism and Child Development.

The Parker Foundation and Florida Tech men’s basketball have partnered through the organization’s Speak Through Sports program, which gives children “the opportunity to be a part of a team and experience sports or activity that they have interest in.”

Through the ‘Be A Buddy” program, the Panthers have been able to have a positive impact on the growth of these children and their families by helping them build confidence, improve motor skills and create opportunities for social and communication growth.
