BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Detectives with the Cocoa Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has taken fugitive murder suspect 35-year-old Rashad Henderson into custody.

Henderson was being south by police in connection with a shooting in the early morning hours of Nov. 11 in Cocoa. The shooting left one man with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to Yvonne Martinez, Cocoa Police Department Public Information Officer, Detectives had an arrest warrant for Henderson.

Cocoa police arrested Keena Bacon, 29, last week in connection with the shooting, who is facing a charge of attempted murder in this case.

“On Nov. 11 at 4:24 a.m., dispatchers received several 911 calls reporting a shooting in the area of the Dolphin Apartments, located at 619 Peachtree Street,” said Martinez.

“When the first officers arrived they located the victim, a 44-year-old black male later identified as Willie Gaines, who had been shot multiple times.”

Gaines survived his injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
