MARIETTA, OHIO — Marietta College senior running back Roger Walker (Palm Bay, Florida – Bayside) has been named to the 2017 Associated Press Little All-America Division III Football second team.

The Little All-America team is a partnership between the Associated Press and the College Sports Information Directors of America.

“Roger is a special young man and a special football player,” Marietta head coach Andy Waddle said.

“This is a great honor for him, but it’s also a tremendous honor for our program. I’m really proud of him, he absolutely deserves all the accolades that are coming his way.”

Named an All-American last season by D3football.com, Walker becomes just the second two-time All-American in program history. He joins Danté Brown who earned All-American honors in 1996 and 1997.

Walker earned first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors after leading the OAC in rushing touchdowns with 17, total touchdowns with 20 and points scored with 122.

In his final game, Walker eclipsed 4,000 career rushing yards and 5000 career all-purpose yards.

While at Bayside High School, Walker was instrumental in helping the Bears win the District Championship and reach the playoffs in 2010 and 2011.

Walker was a four-sport athlete in football, baseball, basketball and track, was named a 2013  second-team All-Star selection and was awarded the Bears offensive MVP in 2012.
