BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — The city of Palm Bay has issued an advisory about reports form external parties including the Brevard County Sherriff’s Office regarding outgoing phone calls requesting immediate payment to avoid suspending Utility service.

These phone calls have been displayed as “City of Palm Bay” on the caller ID.

Lisa Morrell, Director of Communications and IT, confirmed that the number that was used is an assigned number for Code Enforcement.

“A social engineering attack on the public using a credible number assignment to mask a phone number to defraud,” said Morrell.

Should a customer wish to pay their bill they may call the automated phone number 321-952-3420 and select option 1 for payment.
