Titusville police are continuing to investigate a deadly shooting that killed a 28-year-old man Monday night in the area of Robbins Avenue and Palmetto Street in Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police are continuing to investigate a deadly shooting that killed a 28-year-old man Monday night in the area of Robbins Avenue and Palmetto Street in Titusville.

The shooting victim has been identified as 28-year-old Stephen Ellis Murphy from Cocoa.

Investigators say Titusville police officers were called around 8 p.m. to the scene of a reported shooting at the southwest corner of the intersection.

When police arrived, they found Murphy had been shot and was immediately transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m.

Police are still searching for the shooting suspect.

“Detectives are following strong investigative leads and this case remains an active criminal investigation,” said Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department.
