BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Reggae legend Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers, performed a concert on Sunday afternoon at Space Coast Daily Park in Viera, Florida as part of the 2018 Space Coast Seafood & Music Festival.

The Wailers concert featured a four-day Seafood and Music Festival also featuring performances by Don McLean on Friday, Feb. 16; and Orleans on Saturday and Space Coast Symphony on Thursday, Feb. 17. More than a dozen other musical groups performed  during the festival.

“We always like to finish our seafood festival with a big party celebration and what better band to do that with than The Wailers,” said Tom Palermo, Partner with Space Coast Daily and Brevard Production, which annually produces the four-day seafood and music extravaganza.

The legendary Wailers band returned to bring its revolutionary sound to fans around the world.

Steered by famed bassist and founder Aston “Familyman” Barrett, and joined in solidarity with original Wailers’ guitarists Julian Junior Marvin and Donald Kinsey, The Wailers continue to create musical history.

The concert with The Wailers began at 3:30 p.m., was free with festival admission.

From 1973 to 1980, Bob Marley & The Wailers recorded, toured and performed before millions of fans worldwide.

Since 1981, Familyman and Junior Marvin have carried on the mission to “keep The Wailers together,” just as Bob requested, affirming: “By doing that, you keep me alive through the music.”

In tribute to the late co-founder and drummer Carlton “Carly” Barrett, The Wailers present Aston Barrett, Jr. on drums. It’s startling how this young powerhouse delivers with his uncle’s unique and inspiring landmark style.

Lead singer Joshua David Barrett is a Rastaman by lifestyle and culture. Josh impeccably delivers Bob’s powerful message of Jah love and unity through his engaging performance and interaction with the audience.

Adding to the exciting stage show are singers Shema McGregor, daughter of I Three Judy Mowatt, and Hassanah, a multi-cultural powerhouse vocalist and dancer.
