BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Police SWAT Team have taken a suspect into custody after responding to an incident near School Street in Cocoa Thursday afternoon.
Police were notified by a girlfriend that she was held against her will overnight by her boyfriend, according to James Sparvero of News 6.
After escaping the residence, the woman contacted police to alert them that her child was in the house with the boyfriend.
The suspect reportedly did not meet police outside when confronted by responding officers.
After a three hour standoff with authorities, the suspect was taken into custody after BCSO SWAT team was called to the scene.
The adjoining streets were cordoned off to traffic during that time.
