Florida Harris Corporation Employees to Celebrate Spirit of Innovation During EWeek 2018

Hundreds of Harris Corporation employees will gather next week in locations around Brevard County for high-tech contests, demonstrations and team-building events to observe Engineers Week – a celebration of innovation led by the National Society of Professional Engineers.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Hundreds of Harris Corporation employees will gather next week in locations around Brevard County for high-tech contests, demonstrations and team-building events to observe Engineers Week – a celebration of innovation led by the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Throughout the week, Harris will recognize its 7,700 companywide engineers and scientists’ many significant accomplishments.

Local events will include an Engineering Olympics, drone demonstration, egg flight challenge, construction competition and other activities.

The week caps off with an annual favorite – the cardboard boat Lagoon Challenge at the Harris Technology Center in Palm Bay. Area students involved in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education programs will participate in select activities.

The highlight of the week will feature special recognition for about 300 engineers and scientists, and the naming of the Harris Fellow, the company’s highest recognition for engineering achievement. Here’s the schedule:
