BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The Supervillains will perform a concert on Saturday, February 10, during the Titusville Mardi Gras.

The self-described “Florida-bred swamp reggae rockers” will play on the Space Coast Daily Stage at 9:15 p.m.

The Supervillains are from Orlando, Florida and have become one of the most popular bands of their genre in central Florida.

The Supervillains are totally original and are legendary in the bar/club scene. To describe the band’s style, think of bands like Pepper, Slightly Stoopid, The Expendables, Fishbone, The Mad Caddies, Nofx, LTJ, The English Beat, Streetlight Manifesto, Kayavibe, Authorityzero and Lionize.

Band members include Dom (Drums/Vocals), Skart (Guitar/Vocals), Tom (Guitar/Keys) and BJ (Bass).

It was the summer of 1996 when Dom and Skart first played together under the name The Supervillains. The two met in high school and have been playing together ever since.

“I wish it was more exciting but it just kinda happened – but seriously, a car chase or some lions in the story would have been awesome,” said Dom.

“We group up, listening to a ton of music ranging from grunge to punk, hip-hop and reggae. We have been influenced by The Suicide Machines, Sublime, Operation Ivy, The Skatalites, The Toasters, Peter Tosh and the Beatles.

“We are looking forward to coming back to the Titusville Mardi Gras for many reasons. We’ve been doing shows in central Florida since we started touring so many years ago I can’t even count. It’s always a blast and the shows are always amazing. Plus, it’s on the coast and its outside. A little salt in the air and dope bands on the stage, then munch some mardi gras food.”

Since the beginning of the year, fans of the Supervillains’ live shows have noticed something different in the band’s personnel department. Long-time bassist (and production wizard) Dan Grundorf has permanently handed over the reins and bass duties to BJ Hall, the band’s long-tenured stage/guitar-tech and bus driver.

While Dan’s prowess and stage chops will be missed, fans should be more than satisfied with the new addition of BJ. A talented musician with a lengthy resume in the Central Florida scene, he is most recently recognized as playing with Abandon The Midwest, one of the main support acts for the Supervillains (as well as being signed to their label Rah Rah Rah Records).

The Florida natives have been spending the winter months hunkered down in the Sunshine State playing festival dates. Look for the band to work in some of the new tracks alongside of their fan-favorites as they plow their way across the country in 2018.

The Supervillains will be one of the featured bands during the Titusville Mardi Gras. Other bands include Fran Cosmo, former singer of Boston, and the nine-piece Chief Cherry & His Red Beans & Rice Band.
