BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – We are very pleased to announce that Lieutenant Ross Torquato of our Cape Canaveral/Port Canaveral Precinct was recognized by 98.9 WMMO as their “First Responder Friday” Award recipient.

Lt. Torquato is a 24-year law enforcement veteran with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and has served in many capacities such as Sergeant, Corporal and Field Training Officer.

Ross was nominated by one of our citizens, Sandy Plasner, who noted that Ross is an expert in the area of Aikido and has not only trainined her but many others through law enforcement academies, law enforcement agencies and law enforcement conferences relating to the use of force and self-defense.

We are extremely proud of Ross for his amazing service to our citizens and agency and truly can’t thank Sandy and 98.9 WMMO enough for honoring Lieutenant Ross Torquato for his commitment and dedication to the protection of our citizens!
