BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Titusville Police responded to a ‘Suspicious Device Incident’ at Titusville High School that resulted in police deeming the threat as a hoax Thursday morning.

Police say at around 8 a.m. on Thursday, they responded to a report of a suspicious device on the grounds of Titusville High School.

As a result, the campus was quickly cleared by police of any students and faculty members.

Brevard County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad and Titusville Police conducted a comprehensive search of the entire school campus where they found a suspicious device, but later deemed it a hoax device.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is assisting Titusville Police Detectives in the ongoing investigation of the incident.

“We will be aggressively working this investigation to identify who is responsible for this incident because it was a tremendous drain on public safety resources,” said Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson.
