Rain chances are on the rise for Sunday and Monday ahead of an approaching cold front. A few thunderstorms are possible on Sunday afternoon and Monday.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Rain chances are on the rise for Sunday and Monday ahead of an approaching cold front. A few thunderstorms are possible on Sunday afternoon and Monday.

Sunday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. West wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. North northwest wind around 10 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 68. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west northwest after midnight.
