Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization Announces Call for 2018 Projects

SCTPO has five categories of Priority Projects

Previous Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization Project Priority Feature: Florida Avenue Complete Street located in Cocoa, FL. This revitalized corridor now serves as an extension of Cocoa Village and has brought new economic development opportunities to the city.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization is now accepting transportation project funding applications for the 2018 Priority Project Process.

Applications will be used by the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization and the Florida Department of Transportation to qualify and prioritize proposed projects for state and federal funding.

The SCTPO has five categories of Priority Projects:

• Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) Roadway, Bridge and Rail Projects
• Regionally Significant Non-SIS Roadway Projects
• Transportation System Management and Operations (TSM&O), ITS, ATMS, Traffic Operations and Safety Projects
• Transportation Planning Studies
• Bicycle and Pedestrian focused Projects

A work program development schedule and Growth Management Subcommittee meeting date will follow, in the near future.

The application must be submitted for all new projects. You do not have to submit an application for projects already on the TPO priority list.

It is very important that supporting documentation be provided as part of the application to ensure that the projects are consistent with the Local Government Comprehensive Plan and where applicable, MPO/TPO Long Range Transportation Plan.

Projects should be adopted/endorsed by your Council, Commission or Board prior to the TPO adoption on July 12, 2018, for SIS Projects and September 13, 2018, for Non-SIS Projects.
