Titusville Artist Heidi Thamert Wins Prestigious Award at Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival

Titusville artist Heidi Thamert won the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation Art of Philanthropy Award at the 59th Annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival on March 16. Above is Thamert, left, with her winning picture and ribbon with the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation president David Odahowski.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville artist Heidi Thamert won the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation Art of Philanthropy Award at the 59th Annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival on March 16.

Thamert is an award-winning photographer and co-owner of The Downtown Art Gallery in Titusville. She received $5,000 and an automatic entry into the 2019 Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.

The art show is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious outdoor art festivals as more than 1,100 artists from around the world applied this year, with an independent panel of judges selected 225 artists to exhibit their work.

David Odahowski, president of the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, was delighted to present the award to Thamert and said that her piece “Long After I’m Gone” best represents the Art of Philanthropy.

“Long After I’m Gone” is black and white fine art photography, and part of a series of working hands of well lived, hard-working people.

Thamert’s Hands of Time collection is on display at The Downtown Art Gallery, located at 335 S. Washington Avenue in Titusville.
