Florida Institute of Technology Included in 2018 World University Ranking

Florida Tech ranks 352 out of 783 schools worldwide

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Institute of Technology is among the top universities in the world, joining Harvard, Imperial College in London, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland and fewer than 800 other institutions of higher education in the 2018 RUR World University Ranking.

Released this month, the ranking features 783 universities from 74 countries evaluated via 20 separate indicators grouped into Teaching, Research, International Diversity, and Financial Sustainability.

The rankings also used an examination of six subject areas to develop the list: humanities, life sciences, natural sciences, technical sciences, social sciences, medical sciences.

Florida Tech was one of just 135 U.S.-based universities on the list, and one of just five in Florida.

Harvard was the top university for the second year in a row, followed in the top five by University of Chicago, Caltech, Imperial College, Stanford University and MIT.

Data for the 2018 World University Ranking was compiled by Clarivate Analytics.
