Florida Tech’s Lauren Tybor Earns Second SSC Player of the Week Award

Tybor recorded 13 points and 10 assists, both program records, to go along with three goals

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – After posting the best single-game performance in women’s lacrosse program history, Florida Tech’s Lauren Tybor has been named the Sunshine State Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for Mar. 26 – Apr. 1.

This is Tybor’s second conference player of the week award.

The Jacksonville, Florida native broke two program single-game records to guide the No. 5 Panthers to their 10th win of the season, 23-10, over Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday evening at Panther Stadium.

Tybor recorded 13 points and 10 assists, both program records, to go along with three goals.

The sophomore also made an impact in the middle of the field with eight draw controls, a season-high six ground balls and three caused turnovers to lead Florida Tech to its 18th consecutive victory over a non-conference opponent.

Tybor now has 50 points this season on 30 goals and 20 assists in addition to 66 draw controls, 28 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers over 11 games.

The women’s lacrosse team is back in action on Wednesday, Apr. 4, traveling to Tampa, Florida for an SSC showdown with the No. 16 Spartans at 4 p.m. at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex.
