BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – The Martin Andersen Senior Center and Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island invite local seniors to a festive baby shower to benefit the Agape Pregnancy Center.
All local seniors are invited to attend a fun-filled “April Showers Baby Shower” on Friday, April 20 at 1:30 p.m.
This community event will feature live music, professional dancers, door prizes, and 50/50 raffles, and will be held at the Senior Center, located at 1025 S. Florida Avenue in Rockledge.
“We’ve planned a fun-filled, celebratory April Showers Baby Shower to support the much-needed services offered at Agape Pregnancy Center on Merritt Island,” said Valerie Alday, President of Martin Andersen Senior Center.
Agape offers free, confidential services, including counseling services and valuable parenting classes, right here in Central Brevard,” said Valerie Alday, President of Martin Andersen Senior Center.
“All local seniors are invited to join us next Friday, April 20th,” said Alday. “We ask that attendees bring a baby gift donation, such as newborn diapers or baby food. Come out and enjoy refreshments, delicious desserts, socializing, and entertainment by Maryln Smoker and The Martin Andersen Tappers.”
The Martin Andersen Senior Center has 850 members and is known as an active, multi-purpose senior center that provides social, educational and recreational services for Brevard County residents age 55 plus.
Agape Pregnancy Center offers educational services, pregnancy testing, adoption referrals, and operates under the theme “Hope for the heart”. Vickie Davis is Executive Director, and Dr. Janie Geraci serves as Medical Director.
Solaris Senior Living Merritt Island is an assisted living community on Merritt Island and has partnered with the Senior Center to support this community-minded, one-of-a-kind event.
“We want to foster community spirit in Central Brevard by encouraging local seniors to come out and participate in our party-themed, philanthropic baby shower,” said Alday.
“Any donated baby gift is appreciated. In addition to diapers, baby clothing and baby bath items such as shampoo, are also in low supply at Agape. All are welcome to attend, and all proceeds directly benefit Agape,” she said.
