BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: Space Coast Credit Union Names Patrick Wood Director of Accounting

Space Coast Credit Union announced the hiring of Patrick Wood as Director of Accounting and will oversee the credit union’s general and operational accounting functions.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Credit Union announced the hiring of Patrick Wood as Director of Accounting and will oversee the credit union’s general and operational accounting functions.

“We are pleased to welcome Patrick to SCCU’s leadership team,” said Hilary A. Eisbrenner, CPA, SCCU’s SVP/CFO.

“He brings a great deal of financial experience and a new perspective, and he shares our values and focus on members. Patrick’s leadership will help us achieve strategic business goals to ensure that the credit union is financially sound and secure.”

Wood brings more than 20 years of accounting experience in financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, budgeting and internal controls for retail, banking, distribution, manufacturing, and real estate organizations. He comes to SCCU from Southern National Bancorp of Virginia, Inc, where he most recently served as Corporate Controller.

“I am honored and excited to work for such a great company,” said Wood. “The accounting departments are the backbone of the credit union, responsible for the presentation of financial statements, safeguarding assets, and ensuring efficient use of assets.”

Wood graduated in 1996 from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia with a Bachelor of Business Administration. His professional designations include Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Wood has been a senior financial analyst at Owens & Minor, Inc.; financial reporting manager at Bowlmor AMF Corp; and controller of property accounting at The Mills Corporation. He directed merger and integration activities for his accounting team; implemented new accounting systems; and streamlined and automated key accounting, forecasting and financial reporting processes.
