BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking certified Law Enforcement Officers and certified Corrections Officers to serve as Deputy Sheriffs and Corrections Deputies with our agency.

Our Deputy Sheriffs provide a variety of functions, from patrolling neighborhoods and businesses to taking on various specialty assignments such as the Motor Unit, Agricultural and Marine Patrol, Aviation Unit, S.W.A.T., General Crimes Investigations, Homicide Unit, Sex Crimes Investigations Unit, Financial Crimes Investigations, Fugitive Apprehension Unit, K-9 Unit, Dive Team, E.O.D. Unit, Training Unit, School Security and Resource Officers, and the G.A.M.E. Over Task Force.

We also have various assignments available to our Corrections Deputies, such as the Corrections Response Team, Transportation Unit, Booking Deputy, Field Training Officer, Corporal, K-9 and Honor Guard.

Certified employment positions for Law Enforcement Deputy or Correctional Deputy require the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 20 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen
  • High school diploma or state equivalent
  • No felony convictions
  • Meet physical fitness and medical standards, including hearing and visual
  • Comprehensive background investigation
