Florida Tech Claims No. 2 Seed In NCAA Lacrosse Tournament, Panthers Take on No. 3 Seed Limestone

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – For the second year in a row, the Florida Tech women’s lacrosse team has garnered a bid to play in the South Region of the 2018 NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, announced by the NCAA on Sunday evening.

The NCAA unveiled the field of 12 teams that will compete for the NCAA Tournament. The first two rounds will be played at campus sites within the four geographical regions with the semifinals and finals to be held on the campus of the University of Tampa.

The Panthers (16-2) claimed the No. 2 seed in the region and will face No. 3 seed Limestone (17-2) in the first round on Friday, May 11. FIT defeated the Saints, 18-14, on the road earlier this season on Feb. 23 in Gaffney, South Carolina. Start time for the first round contest has yet to be announced.

Florida Southern earned the No. 1 seed in the South and will host the first two rounds of the regional at Moccasin Field. The Mocs will take on the winner of the matchup between Florida Tech and Limestone in the second round on Saturday, May 12.
