Daytona Beach Man Arrested In Port Canaveral For DUI After Crashing Car Into Ambulance With Infant In Backseat

Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Daytona Beach man for DUI on Friday after he crashed his vehicle into ambulance with his 1-year-old son in the vehicle. (BCSO Image)

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Daytona Beach man for DUI on Friday after he crashed his vehicle into ambulance with his 1-year-old son in the vehicle.

Authorities identified the man as 24-year-old Scott William Sampson.

According to BCSO, Sampson admitted to deputies he had been drinking and smoking marijuana.

Deputies say they received a call around 5:45 p.m. about a crash involving a Brevard County Fire Rescue ambulance in a parking garage, located on 9020 Rowland Dr. in Port Canaveral.

The report states Sampson drifted off the road and struck the ambulance near Cruise Terminal 10.

The ambulance wasn’t carrying any patients and nobody was injured as a result of the crash.

Sampson has been charged with the following:

– driving under the influence with property damage

– driving under the influence with a person less than 18 years old in the vehicle

– possession of marijuana

– drug paraphernalia
